Reece's Eight Month Highlights

-I continue to try new foods and have just begun to eat two meals a day.  I love my morning breakfast and eat A LOT!  This month I tried: nectarines, carrots, peas, bread, bagels, Puffs, and chunks of banana.  I am still learning to chew, and will spit out anything that hangs around in my mouth for too long.
-I am officially mobile!  I have learned to Army-crawl and will do this to get to whatever interests me.  Mommy is happy that I haven't figured out that I can explore the house on my own yet!
-I love to make the "lada-lada" sound with anything and everything I can put my mouth on.  This includes Mommy's shoulder or knee, any ball I can get ahold of, water bottles, and my hand.  I am learning how to do it with my tongue now and I practice every chance I get!
-I continue to love to roll over on the changing table.  Mommy has had to tell me "no" for the first time, and I have not been too happy about it (neither has she).
-I have gone from my tummy to a sitting position a few times, but am still working on mastering this skill.
-I am very in tune to the sights and sounds around me.  I stop and listen when I hear an airplane, a helicopter, trucks, birds, flies, bees, etc. and I love to watch them fly through the sky!
-And to top off this month, Mommy found me pulled up on my knees and holding onto the railing in my crib this morning!
I am sure next month will be full of changes and adventures... especially considering my new-found freedom!
I loved the fountain at Balboa Park!
Drinking from the faucet is another favorite!
I tried bread for the first time and am not sure if I like it or not.
Grace and I enjoyed the last Coronado Concert in the Park together.
I love playing in the kitchen while Mommy is cooking!
Daddy and Mommy let me eat some dirt, grass, and leaves at the park.  Thankfully, I was not a big fan.
I visited Daddy at work and enjoyed working at his desk and gazing out his window at San Diego Bay.

I LOVE my Puffer fish pool!
Now that I can pull myself up, the opportunities are endless!
Thank you Great Grandma Betty for my beautiful quilt!

An Afternoon with Grace

Our summer weather finally decided to show up (a little late!), so Grace and I decided to take advantage of my Puffer fish swimming pool and splish-splash around one last time!  Grace loves to stand and practiced trying in the pool while I enjoyed splashing around and sucking on my toy fish.  We topped off the day with a bath in the sink.  I really wanted to turn on the water, but Grace had command of the faucet handle.  When the water did turn on Grace loved touching it with her hands, and I enjoyed drinking it!  We had a great time together!
Yea for swim time!  Wait, Grace... where are you going?
 Bath time!
Grace, may I pretty please turn on the water?
Thank you for sharing!
This is probably not the last time I will get this look!

Bath Time!

I love taking a bath in my tub when it is set in the sink.  I used to sit still and splash around a little, but now I am noticing everything else around me.  I love to suck on the faucet handle and I try my hardest to turn on the water.  Another favorite is trying to see what is over the edge.  My splashes have also matured into tidal waves that empty the tub all over the windows and kitchen floor.  This is so much fun, and Daddy and Mommy usually laugh along with me.  Today when Mommy turned to grab a towel, I reached forward for the faucet and ended up on my tummy.  She told me that I have officially graduated to the big boy bathtub.  I can't wait to see what adventures are in store for me there!
