We are Thankful!

We traveled to Visalia this year for Thanksgiving.  We are so thankful for all of our family and wish we could have everyone in the same place at the same time.
Sawyer and Dakota decorated our dessert pies.  TTara brought a snowman craft for the kids while they waited for dinner (genius!).
 A perfect Christmas card picture...
...this one is a little more realistic :)
The girls... Where was Jae?
She was busy finishing her cider while Reece played in TioMon's truck.
Bryce topped off the night with story time.  What fun!

Pigtails and Crewcuts

We have been talking about cutting Reece's hair over the past month.  I really wanted to wait until Reece's second birthday, but after a few crazy hair days I decided I was okay with cutting it now.  I was even more convinced after Grace had her hair cut at Pigtails and Crewcuts, a salon geared towards kids.  I knew Reece would need all the bells and whistles possible and this salon had it all!  Reece got to play with tools, color with markers, and play at a train table while we waited.  During his haircut he sat in a fire truck while sucking on a lollipop and watching the movie, Cars.  What more could a little boy ask for?! There were PLENTY of distractions for Reece.  The stylist was even able to shave his neck and blow dry him off. Wow!
On our way... Hurray for haircuts!
I was impressed at how easily Reece let the stylist do her job... he was hardly phased!
A successful first haircut!  Papa, you're hired for the next!

Elle's Third Month

What a month!  Elle continues to be a happy and sweet baby.  She is becoming more and more social and loves to interact with anyone she locks eyes with.  Nursing now takes a little longer because she wants to look up at me and chat every minute or so. I love it!

A few things from this month:
-Elle caught a cold along with a cough.  She let me suction her nose out with no problem... in fact, she smiled through it all!
-We thought she contracted Pink Eye in her left eye, but after a visit to the walk-in clinic we were relieved to discover it was only a clogged tear duct.
-Elle is obsessed with her hands!  She chews and sucks on them every chance she gets.
-She hasn't fully giggled yet, but they are just below the surface!  We are having a lot of fun playing and trying to get them out!
-Elle can be very upset and crying, but the minute we go to her she is all smiles!
Getting BIG!
Grace and Elle are becoming great friends!  Grace asks for Elle the minute she sees me.  She loves to hold her, help change her diaper, and always makes sure she has her socks, hat, and pacifier.
Elle loves the Bumbo!
A rare picture with me!
Tummy time, trying to sit up in the swing, and kicking out of her pj's!
Reece now loves Elle!  Once she started smiling and chatting with him he was sold!
Reece ran to get me saying "Uh oh!" and this is how I found Elle.  When I asked him what happened, he showed me...
...how he helped her roll over.  Such a nice big brother (I need to watch him much closer now that he loves her!).
We tried a photo shoot on the rocking chair, and I got a good first picture.  Elle loves to arch her back and stretch out - and this is what happened:
The floor is a much better place to take a picture... for now!
Elle's hair after our photo shoot.  It's a little crazy these days!

A Rainy Day at the Zoo

This Saturday Evan, Kayla, and Grace called around 11am to see if Reece wanted to take a quick trip to the zoo with them.  Aaron and I didn't hesitate to 1.) Take advantage of alone time with Elle (and each other) and 2.) Allow Reece the opportunity to get outside and have fun!  He loves his time with the Hents, and it was supposed to rain soon.  Well, little did we know it would rain sooner than later.  Evan and Kayla got creative and squeezed Reece and Grace into her stroller and after a few exhibits made their way to McDonald's instead!  Thank you Hents... Reece loved the adventure!

Tia and Jae

Tia and Jae came to visit us and meet Elle this weekend.  We were so happy to see them... it meant a lot to us to have them here.  We were able to go on a walk, play at the park, and spend time at the bay.  We even walked down to see the USS Carl Vinson where President Obama was watching the Veteran's Day college basketball game.  Evan, Kayla, and Grace also visited.  The kids had a lot of fun playing and even took a bath together!
Jae was so excited to meet and hold Elle!
 Playing at the park.

Playing in the sand at the bay.  The USS Carl Vinson was just up the beach.
We missed the landing of Air Force One, but we were able to see the fly over just before the basketball game started.

The girls loved wearing Reece's jam-jams and playing with his boats in the tub!
Sweet Elle!
