Elle's Tenth Month

ElleBelle,
We love you so, so, so, so much!  You continue to be such a calm and sweet little girl, and are developing a great sense of humor.  Good thing, because your big brother can be a little rough with you.  Reece loves you.  He loves to make you smile, and he usually gets you to smile by tickling you!  This has turned into a nightly family ticklefest!  You absolutely love Reece, and just can't seem to get enough attention from him.  You are definitely becoming more opinionated, and will yell and wave your arms when you are frustrated or need help with something.  A lot happened physically to you this month... teeth, crawling, and creeping... wow!  You are a trooper!  Keep up the great work, sweet girl!
This month:
-Just after we got home from Kansas your bottom left lateral incisor (5/20) and bottom right lateral incisor (5/21) finally came in.  That makes five teeth in one week... phew!
-You love to grind all of your new teeth together.  It drives me crazy as it sounds like fingernails on a chalkboard.
-You now pull yourself up to standing in your crib, so we had to lower your mattress.  You also pull yourself up to standing throughout the house and creep around.
-As of June 5 you are officially crawling!  We left you alone in your room too many times, and while Dad was giving Reece a bath you decided you would crawl all the way from your bookcase to the bathroom door... screaming out of frustration.  Good job!  We love that you are determined! You usually only move when you really want something (usually one of Reece's toys).  Reece isn't quite sure how to handle this yet.
-You now love to put your hands in front of your face to cover your eyes and play Peek-A-Boo.
-You finally said "Mama" in context this month... I was (and still am) smiling!
-Your eyes change daily.  They usually look brown, but in the light they have a blue rim and specks of green.  I'm almost convinced that they are going to be hazel.
-Your mood is taking bigger swings now.  When you are happy you crack-up and squeal.  When you are mad you get stiff, yell, and wave your arms.
-Before bed I always sing the Irish song Too Ra Loo Ra Loo Ral to you.  This is a family tradition dating back to your great-great grandmother (and I'm sure even further).  As soon as I start singing you instantly rest your head on my shoulder, take a deep breath, and relax.  I love this time with you.
-You love music!  When I sing "The Wheels on the Bus" you respond with "hmm, hmm, hmm..." perfectly at the same pace as "round and round..." It's quite impressive!  You giggle and dance whenever you hear music whether it's coming from our living room, a car driving by, or the grocery store speakers.
-When you are in a playful mood you will make eye contact with us and then lay down and giggle and wiggle saying "Come and tickle me!"  How can we resist?!
We LOVE you sweet girl!
Out on a play-date with Daddy.  You love riding in the car!
Evening tickles with Reece.  He cracks you up!
