December 2013

Friends, a parade, and lollipops... doesn't get much better!

Finding the perfect tree...
We found it!

We met up with the Woodalls, Komadinas, and Sara at the Ferry Landing.  We took the ferry to the Convention Center to enjoy the Flood Christmas Concert together.  What a beautiful day!

Our friends, the Hickeys, met us at the Del.  We went for a walk on the beach, watched ice-skaters, and gazed at the amazing Christmas tree.

Christmas goodies from Grandma arrived!

Reece and Elle got a new bunk bed!

Our early morning trip to the zoo with the Woodalls was amazing!  The momma orangutan was out holding her three-day old baby, and the polar bears jumped, splashed, played for us.

We enjoyed a book exchange at Brooke's house with our MomSpace friends

Reece and Elle made salt-dough ornaments to hang on the tree and to give to friends

Reece amazed us at the Graham Memorial Preschool Christmas Concert.  For weeks we asked him what songs he was singing at school, and he answered, "Just some Christmas songs... I don't know which ones, and I can't sing them right now."  Surprisingly, he knew all of the words and hand movements to all of the songs, sang loudly, and smiled (and kicked his legs back and forth) throughout the entire performance.  We were so proud of him!
Reece sat next to his buddy, Jayden, and teacher, Mrs. Kelly.

Christmas Eve
First stop, Clayton's Diner for breakfast
Second stop, the beach to watch the local Surfing Santas.  There was a good crowd gathered, but the Santas were hard to spot out in the water.  The kids had a better time watching the bulldozer and playing in the sand.

Baking and decorating cookies for both Jesus' birthday and Santa

We will not assemble anything on Christmas Eve again, I repeat, we will not assemble anything on Christmas Eve again!  Although we were up super late putting together Elle's new kitchen, Aaron and I worked really well together and had a lot of fun!

Santa came!

Here are the only three pictures I took Christmas morning.  We were too busy having fun opening gifts, Skyping with family, and eating Monkey Bread and bacon!
Fortunately Connie took a picture of us while we were Skyping!
Merry Christmas!

Christmas Dinner at the Bucklew's. Uncle Bo and Auntie Margie spoiled Reece and Elle with new paper and markers.

We wrapped up the month with a trip to Visalia.
Someday soon, Reece will be riding with Papa!

Happy December!
