Elle is 6!

Elle, you are SIX and you are independent and needy at the same time. You love hugs and reassurance. Once you are confident, you soar. You are socially observant and street smart. You pay close attention to the people and the world around you.

You started Kindergarten this year and are in Mrs. B's class.You LOVE Mrs. B! Some of your first Cardiff School friends are Audrey, Farrah, Ridgley and Emily. Audrey was recently diagnosed with Leukemia. Once she felt up to it, you were able to have a FaceTime playdate with her.

Every morning you wake up and ask, "What are we doing today?" You are social and love to be out and about playing in our cul-de-sac, at the park or at the beach, especially buried in the sand!

You celebrated your 6th birthday with a gymnastics party with friends. You had so much fun and felt very special with your beautiful cake made lovingly for you by Ms. Ann.

At Cardiff Elementary's Ice Cream Social, Ms. Kim told Dad that she and Ms. Boyesen love you. You're adorable, well-mannered, super smart, kind, and helpful. She said that you got in front of your class and read The Very Hungry Caterpillar aloud! We are so proud of you!

You lost your first tooth on June 23rd at Papa and Nana's during dinner. You wouldn't eat and wanted some alone time. When I checked on you your tooth was twisted backward. I told you if you pulled it, it would come out. You tried and it did! You were brave! The Tooth Fairy found you in Visalia that night and gave you $5.

In July in Kansas visiting family...
You were excited to bring candy to the theatre, but then when Grandma said you would have to sneak it in in mom's purse, you said you didn't want to bring it. With a very concerned look you asked if there would be any security cameras there? 

After a trip to the dentist you and Elle each received a different type of dental floss.  You really wanted to see Elle's because it was cool and when Elle screamed in protest you yelled, "Oh ya, when we grow up and get married, I'm not sharing my dental floss with you!"  We love that you two think you'll marry each other and live next door when you grow up.

Reece, you are clever and love a good laugh.  You love to play games, especially UNO and No Stress Chess.  Thumb Wars are a new favorite, too.

You are competitive and are learning how to feel your emotions and express them in a healthy way. So far in soccer when you get upset, you cross your arms and walk off the field.

You still love a song at bedtime, and I'm happy to sing to you for as long as you'll let me.

You chew gum right before you go up to bat because the gum package has a picture of a man batting and chewing.  You put the gum in your mouth as you're going up to bat, and then you spit it out on your way back into the dugout.
