Reece's Nine Month Highlights

Here are the stats from my nine-month appointment:
I weigh 18 pounds, 10.4 ounces (25%) and I am 28 inches long (25%).  My head circumference is 45cm (50%).

Grandma was a big help at my Nine Month Well Baby Check!

-New foods I have tried are: watermelon, butternut squash, acorn squash, zucchini, peaches, bits of honeydew melon, grated cheese, Cheerios, diluted apple juice, apple slices (I like to suck the juice from these).  Grace let me try out one of her whole carrots and I loved gnawing on it almost as much as I loved banging in on the table!  Avocado continues to be my personal favorite.
-I am now eating three meals a day (about 12 ounces total) along with drinking four 8-ounce bottles, a few ounces of water, and Cheerios, Puffs, bagels, and graham crackers.
-Mom picked the following "food" out of my mouth: bark, leaves, flowers, and sand.
-When Daddy and Mommy ask "Where is... the jack o' lantern, bird, truck, Daddy, etc.?" I love to look and get really excited when I find it.
-I love to throw balls!  We have a few here at home, and my favorite thing to do is shake them really hard and then release them.  I never know exactly where they will go!
-I also love to throw things over changing table, high-chair, and couch.  I then peer over to make sure whatever I threw is there.  This is one of my favorite games right now!
-I am beginning to take a real interest in the pictures in my books.  I touch them, try to pick things up, and ooh and ahh at babies and animals.
-Daddy and Mommy love to build towers with my blocks, and I LOVE to knock them down!  I was afraid of the really tall towers at first and would have nothing to do with them, but now they are my favorite!
-Before I go to sleep and when I wake up I like to play in my crib.  I turn my aquarium on and off, get on my knees or stand up to throw my pacifier over the edge and peer at it, I enjoy a good conversation with myself in the mirror, and I talk to my stuffed animals and trucks down in their basket.
-I have been babbling up a storm and have become quite the chatterbox  A few of the repetitive sounds I make are: ma, da, gee, and everyone's favorite, blah, blah, blah.  I also make many other sounds that cannot be typed out!
-I continue to love the outdoors.  I squeal and lunge whenever someone opens a door.
-I am beginning to clap with my hands closed and will raise my hand/arm to say "goodbye" to Dad AFTER he has left for work.  Daddy and Mommy try to convince me to do it as he is leaving, but I like to wait until he is officially gone!
-Birds, airplanes, and helicopters continue to fascinate me!
-I can be SHY around new friends, but grow comfortable quickly.
-My nickname this month is "Zippo" because when I get excited I rub my hand across my leg as if I am lighting a Zippo lighter.
-A few of my dislikes are: being laid back on the changing table, having my face wiped after I eat, and the end of my Baby Einstein Baby Animals dvd (I actually cry and throw a bit of a fit when the tv turns off!).
I am down to two naps now, so Daddy, Mommy, and I take regular walks to the beach now.
Daddy and I love playing during bath-time!
I love my Papa!  We visited Visalia for TTara and Paityn's birthday parties.
I love playing Peek-a-Boo on the changing table.
I also love eating flowers and bark when we hang out on the patio!
Merridy and I enjoyed the swings at Mission Bay. Grace visited me in my crib after my nap.
Garrison, Leeland, and I had a great time exploring the Children's Museum downtown.
Oh, how I love my Auntie Rue!
Nine months, it's been fun...
...Ten months, here I come!!!

Pumpkin Patch

Grace and I went to Pumpkin Station in Bonita last Friday.  We had a great time checking out pumpkins, watching the goats, eating hay, and making friends with the scarecrow.

Denver!

Daddy, Mommy, and I traveled to Denver recently for Todd and Melissa's wedding.  We stayed at the Mason's (Tanner, Liz, Kailey, and Will) along with Gunnar, Candice, and Christian.  A lot of fun was packed into the five days we were there!  We took day trips to Boulder, Golden, and Red Rocks, attended Todd and Melissa's rehearsal dinner and wedding, and spent time playing in the front yard, on the swing set, and with lots and lots of toys inside.  Thank you to the Mason family for sharing your home with us and keeping our bellies full!  We had a great time and look forward to our next adventure with you!
On our way!  I rode along with Daddy at the Denver Airport.
We took a day-trip to Boulder and hiked to Boulder Falls.
We also walked around town... well, Kailey, Will, and I rode around town :)
Will and I enjoyed playing together.  He loved to sit in my lap!  Christian and I spent some "tummy-time" together.
We went to Pasquini's for Todd and Melissa's rehearsal dinner.  I had a lot of fun meeting everyone, playing with the pizza dough, and sucking on the table (I got there before Mommy could stop me!).
The crew:  Will, me, Kailey, and Christian

We visited Red Rocks Amphitheatre.  We hiked all the way down and back up, visited the museum, and gazed at downtown in the distance.  We will have to come back someday when my taste in music evolves!
Kailey let me borrow her sun hat... it was our little secret!
Daddy doing the K-State Wabash Cannonball with the wedding party.
