Elle's First Month

We were so blessed to have family and friends surrounding us this past month.  Both Nana and Grandma stayed with us for an extended period of time helping around the house and spending quality time with both kids.  Reece has had a difficult time adjusting, as we expected, and Nana and Grandma were exceptional in sweeping him away to the park or watching Elle while Aaron and I took him out or played with him here at home.  We were also spoiled with many delicious meals and it was a great way to see friends and introduce them to Elle.

I have been much more relaxed and willing to get out with a newborn this time around (partly because I have a toddler and I HAVE to!).  Grandma helped me to venture out (even over the bridge!) in the beginning and we both wondered how I was going to do it alone... but I have.  Having Elle in the carrier while I pick Reece up out of the swing or strap him into his car seat has not been easy... but I'm doing it!

Elle is beautiful!  We love our little girl/little sister and the sweet joy that she has brought into our lives. She reminds us a lot of her big brother.  They seem to have the same eyes, mouth, and chin.  She also makes little expressions that we remember Reece making at her age.  She is such a good baby!  She only fusses when she is hungry, tired, or gassy and otherwise sleeps or gazes at us.  She is already very alert when she is awake and when we talk to her she is already trying to interact with us.  She has even cooed a little already.  Her neck and legs are strong!  When held up, she holds her head upright and pushes her legs straight into a standing position.  When on her tummy, she already moves her head from side to side and has inched forward by pushing her legs.

We are in love!
One month old!
