Elle's Second Month

Two months have gone by much too fast.  It makes me a little sad knowing that time is passing so quickly. Elle is so sweet and is a good (very good) baby!  Her doctor gave me a list of adjectives and asked me to describe her.  I chose calm and happy.  We are blessed!

Here are her two month check-up stats:
Height: 23" 76%
Weight: 10 pounds, 13 ounces 51%
Head Circumference: 37.5cm 20%

Highlights:
-I started pumping and offered Elle two bottles this month.  She guzzled the first one down (3 ounces) and wanted more.  I am so happy she will take a bottle (even from me).
-We also offered Elle a pacifier and she took it right away.  It is helpful in calming her when she is fussy and wants to sleep.  I honestly don't know what we would do without it!
-I decided to try out Kayla's Miracle Blanket on Elle, and it lives up to it's name!  When I swaddle her at night she goes right back to sleep.  I'm already dreading breaking this habit... especially because Elle is sleeping 5+ hours her first stretch!  It has also helped lengthen her naps - although she has not fallen into a schedule.  I'm not sure when that will happen because she sleeps in so many places throughout the day (bassinet, stroller, carrier, swing, my arms).  Having two children definitely complicates creating a schedule.
-Elle broke out with acne this month.  It has been around for most of the month, but is slowly going away.
-Elle will sit in her swing or under a play mat for longer periods of time now.  She loves holding or hitting the toys with her hands, and watching the flashing lights and spinning animals. It's nice because it allows me more time to interact with Reece or to get a few chores done.
-We were a little concerned when Elle didn't poop for four days, but are now more comfortable with the fact that she only poops every 3 - 5 days (this saves us a few diapers too!).
-Elle smiled for the first time on September 23rd!  It was such a beautiful sight to see and filled me up to overflowing with joy.  Smiles now come regularly throughout the day and are so sweet!  We have also heard a few sweet coos.

Hanging out after bath time (she isn't always a fan).
One of her first smiles caught on camera!
She loves the lights and toys on her play mats.
Reece loves to put stickers on her, drive trucks across her, and point out her eyes, nose, ears, and mouth. He also puts her pacifier in her mouth.  GENTLE is heard often throughout our day!
Here is Elle with a gift from Reece.  He tends to play with her when I leave the room.  Often I come back and she has something laying on top of her (giraffe, trucks, drum, etc.)!
Papa and Nana visited us.  Unfortunately I do not have a picture of Nana :(
Our first family picture... we will work on getting an even better one soon!
Waiting for her two month Well Baby check-up, which included three shots and an oral Rotavirus vaccine.
Of course Reece didn't want to read the books or play with the toys in the doctor's office.  Why when there are locks, drawers, lights, and other cool equipment?!?!
Being two months old is so much fun!
