Elle's Fourth Month

Elle, you are growing up right before our very eyes.  Dada says, "Of course, that's what babies do." (he's always so logical)... but I am truly amazed at how fast time is passing.  You are already full of smiles and giggles and are working on rolling around.  You love to sit up and stand whenever you get the chance. One thing I am trying to be very mindful of is enjoying EVERY moment with you.  For a while I was wishing away your middle of the night feedings, but am embracing those sweet moments with you now.  I love you, sweet girl!

Elle went to Dr. Petrovich for her Four-Month Well Baby Check-Up.  Here are her statistics:
Weight - 13 pounds, 3 ounces = 41%
Length - 2 feet, 1 inch = 61%
Head Circumference - 40 cm = 24%

This month:
-Elle graduated from the bassinet to the Pack-N-Play.  We aren't ready to put her in Reece's room, so she is still sleeping next to us.
-Elle eats every 3 or more hours and has pulled 8-hour stretches at night.  This happened until: Operation Unswaddle Elle.
-Unswaddling Elle has affected her sleep.  She no longer sleeps soundly through noise or sleep cycles.  I am replacing her pacifier more at night now... and more and more.
-During the day, Elle stays awake for two hours at a time... almost exactly every time.  She then naps for 45 minutes.  She just can't make it past the 45 minute mark (since we unswaddled her).  I usually wait until she has been in bed for one hour before I get her.
-Any time her feet touch down, Elle pushes herself into a standing position.  I have to strategically place her in a sitting position to get her to sit still.  She even tries to arch herself up and out of the Bumbo, swing, and bathtub.
-Elle is chatty!  She loves to look out the window and talk to the trees blowing in the wind, or to anyone she locks eyes with.
-On December 13, Elle rolled over from her tummy to her back three times.  She hasn't since.  Instead she is working on rolling from her back to her tummy both ways.  She has made it all the way over a few times, but her arm usually gets in the way!
Getting stronger!
Our little wiggle-worm!
Elle loves the back seat of the stroller!  Here she is hanging out and watching the Christmas parade.
Here she is hanging out with me as I wrapped Christmas gifts.  She was a great little helper... well, she kept me company.
A rare picture with big brother Reece.  He had just dropped off his letter to Santa at the Recreation Center and didn't understand why he couldn't go in the pool.  Elle waited patiently, as always!
Reece decorated Elle with his Sesame Street stickers.  It's so much fun to see them interacting more and more!  I love Reece's smile and the way Elle watches him so carefully.
Trying to roll over... she hasn't quite figured out how to get her arm out from under her.  She has made it all the way over to her tummy a few times, but not consistently.
