July 2013

July was full of adventure and fun!
Reece loves making silly faces for the camera!
Happy Birthday milkshakes and Oreos for Dad!

We traveled to Convict Lake Resort for Joe and Karen's wedding celebration.  It was special to spend the weekend with family, as well as spend time with our family of four.
Reece practiced casting his fishing line over and over before our trip.  Elle learned how to cast hers too!
We found a park to play at on our way there.  Mt. Whitney made a nice backdrop!

Rehearsal dinner on the 4th of July
Family time relaxing at our cabin... The deer were brave!
We were bused to a private beach for the wedding ceremony.  It was gorgeous!
Throwing rocks into the lake after the ceremony
Passing time during the cocktail hour... Reece climbed under tables while Elle took a nap on the dance floor.
Reece and Jaelyn decided to dance together during Joe and Karen's first dance.  It was really sweet!
Uncle Robbie bought everyone a jawbreaker lollipop... they kept the kids occupied for days!

We rented a pontoon boat Saturday morning.  Tio, Reece, and Papa fished while the rest of us hung out and relaxed.  The water was way too cold for swimming!  We broke the rotor trying to pull onshore, so the ride home against the wind was a little tense... but we made it.  It made for a great adventure and lots of laughs (good thing we paid for boat insurance)!

Everyone left on Sunday, but our reservation was through Monday.  The four of us spent the morning hiking around the river and fishing at the lake.  After naps, we drove up to Mammoth Mountain and rode the gondola to the summit.  On our way home we picked up gourmet pizza at the resort restaurant, and then checked out the stars before heading to bed.  It was such a great day!

The summit at 11,060 feet
NO!  I don't want to go down. I want to go up... all the way to outer space and heaven!
We explored the Mammoth earthquake fault and hiked around a little on our way home.

We traveled through Yosemite on our way to Visalia.  It was gorgeous, but we underestimated the windy roads.  Reece kept telling us he was going to throw up, so we stopped and had him take Dramamine... too late!  He threw up during the last mile of winding roads.  Poor boy!
Visalia
Elle had her first pedicure at Sawyer's birthday party.

Catching skippers with Mama in the early morning

Nana made GG's famous fried tacos.  Yum!
More floatie fun!  Elle weighed about 10 pounds heavier in her diaper that I thought was a swim diaper!
Friends!

Concert in the Park with the Woodalls and Persons
Elle now loves to build towers with Legos.
One morning we decided to ride the ferry across the bay for a day of family fun and exploration.

 Exploring Seaport Village
We had to ride the carousel.  Reece was so excited to sit in a seat, while Elle braved the horse.  She was in awe!
We also rode the elevator to the top of the Hyatt.  The view was awesome!

Auntie Rue took a few pictures of Reece and Elle while she was visiting one morning.  She edited them and then surprised us with them!

The kids and I brought Chick-fil-A to Dad's office.  They had a blast pretending to do business with him.

Construction finally started on our building.  We have scaffolding surrounding us and workers on our patio during the day.
Reece has been insisting on wearing sweat pants and T-shirts to bed instead of pajamas. One morning he woke and said, "See, I have on the same kind of clothes as you, Dad!" with a big smile. It's so sweet that we bought him a few more pairs of sweat shorts to wear to bed.
Early morning ironing with Dad.
